Up Front Agency has just reported that Matsuura Aya has been diagnosed with endometriosis. She has had reoccurring abdominal pain for the past 4 years and finally went to see a physician about it. Due to the pain accompanied with this condition, Matsuura has decided to reduce her concert activities. After discussing with her, she has decided to continue working but in a limited sense so please continue to support her.

Comment from Matsuura Aya
To all you fans, thank you for your constant support.
I have something I would like to share with you.
This has been going on for about 4 years now. Every now and then, while in my every day routine, I would get stomach pains. After consulting with a physician, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. Upon discussing with my staff, I decided in 2009 to take a “2-3 year break from doing concerts”.
I continued to do research on my own and found that there are many others just like me who are suffering from the same condition. However, I found out that instead of treating the condition, they just ignore it and allow the condition to worsen. I hope that by sharing this I can help inform a lot of other women about this condition. If you are worried about the possibility of this at all, I highly recommend that you visit the hospital as soon as possible.
For me, these types of personal problems are a very delicate matter, so only people really close to me have known about this throughout my years of activity, however this year marks the 10th anniversary of my debut and is an important year for me and my fans. Despite hearing what everyone had to say, I can’t just stop everything though! Right ♥ So I will do my best to continue my activities without pushing myself too hard.
I apologize for making my fans worry.
I hope you can understand and please continue to support me from here on just like before.

Well, that would certainly explain her reduced activities.
Hope she gets better.

This is sad to hear, especially as there is no cure (it is only controlled). But I’ll always love Aya!

I wonder if there was any truth to the jaw pain story that was given a few years ago as the reason she lessened her activities.

Wow I have no real comment for this. It’s like a stupider version of Sakichy’s announcement, except citing health issues. It’s obnoxious the level of stubbornness some people exhibit. Spending years basically suffering in silence while blowing off your entire fanbase. All of sudden, close to 2012, “There was a plan 2-3 years ago to limit concerts”
I’m sorry but the whole thing just reeks of stupidity, miscommunication, and insincerity.
I hope she seeks treatment, she has plenty of time to do so. Instead of hobnobbling with random JP stars each week and not doing anything career related

“Endometriosis is a common finding in women with infertility”
The Aya fan nation just gasped. Maybe why she hasn’t gotten married yet either?

Poor Ayaya. They waited a while to put this info out to all of her waiting fans, but it is a very personal matter that’s probably embarassing for her. 😦
I became a H!P fan in late 2009 and when I found out Ayaya wasn’t as active anymore, I wondered what had happened. I almost thought UFA was dropping her for being too old or something stupid when she has such talent and charisma. I hope her condition gets better and that she won’t have to suffer through extreme pain or anything.
It’s very brave of her to push on like that and not give up for her fans. I hope she doesn’t push herself too hard like she said.

Well, my first thought was, of course, sympathy, since this poor woman has constant health problems.
But then, when combined with the jaw disorder, it also made sense. Ayaya is a born entertainer: Nothing short of a debilitating medical condition would slow her down like this, but unfortunately, she has had two in a row.
My third thought is that I admire her courage in talking about this condition, because, as she pointed out, it may encourage others to seek the treatment they need.
